-
- Q: Where is the setup-program for GMP?
- A: There isn't one. I did not use one, because of its file size. It would
- make your downloading time longer. And by the way it isn't necessary!
- Installation is quite easy. When reading the file, you probably have
- unzipped the file "gmp16b.zip". The following files should be in the
- same directory as this one:
- - gmp16b.exe
- - help.hlp
- - comcat.dll
- - asycfilt.dll
- - stdole2.tlb
- - ctl3d32.dll
- - vb5de.dll
- Normally, the last five ones should be in your Windows-System-directory.
- You can copy them there by typing the following text in a DOS-box:
-
- copy *.dll c:\windows\system\
-
- If "Windows\System\" is your Windows-System dir.
- Another possibility is to drag the files on your desktop. Just open your
- the "System" folder in your "Windows"-folder and the folder where you have
- unzipped GMP. Then drag the file to "System"-folder and drop it.
- By the way, this procedure isn't really necessary. GMP should find the files
- in its directory. I have tested it on five different computers, where these
- files weren't in the "System"-dir and it worked fine!
-
- Q: When starting GMP it doesn't work. What is wrong with it?
- A: You need two more files which aren't included in the program:
- - MS Visual Basic runtime library V5 : msvbvm50.dll
- - oleaut32.dll
- The last one should be on almost every computer. It is necessary for every
- program written in VB 5 and many other programs. the runtime-lib can be found
- on many Shareware-CD-ROMS, etc.
- I did not include them because of your downloading time. These two files are
- quite large, larger than the whole program. I hope you will understand this.
-
- Q: I don't find the files mentioned above. What shall I do?
- A: If you really don't find them, email me at (Michael_Moltenbrey@compuserve.com)
- and I'll make them available at GMP's homepage:
-
- Q: What does "Reg.-No." mean at the title screen?
- A: It means "Registration number". You can register your copy of GMP for FREE at its
- homepage or by sending an email. It is absolutely costless!
-
- Q: What if I do not register? Are there any crippled things in GMP?
- A: No, absolutely not. You don't need top register, but you help improve and support
- GMP by registering. GMP isn't crippled in any way!
-
- Q: What's the difference between GMP 1.6b and GMP 1.6?
- A: GMP V1.6b is a pre-release version. I'd like to receive any comments about
- it, so I can improve it. The normal relase GMP 1.6 is probably going to
- be released in early summer 1998. In the version, not everything has been
- realised.
-
- Q: What are these things?
- A: I am planning to include several new function in the normal release, e.g.
- calculation of conjunctions, eclipses, etc of the four Galilean Moons and
- much more!
